ISWO (Indigenous Sports & Wellness Ontario), an organization HIP has worked closely with, announces the Power 2 Play (P2P) Equipment Grant Program. The program was developed to provide sport equipment and/or financial support to purchase sport equipment to Indigenous communities/organizations in Ontario. Stream 1 provides access to new Bauer hockey equipment and Stream 2 provides financial support to procure own equipment.
P2P is intended to create opportunities for Indigenous athletes to train and compete within the Indigenous community, and to build skills and competition preparedness; and to reduce barriers for Indigenous Peoples to participate in organized sport. Resources will be provided to help with participation in physical activity, athlete and sport skill development, increase accessibility and encourage organized sport. Indigenous (bands/communities/government/established youth groups/not-for-profit) organizations and non-Indigenous not-for-profits(directly delivering sports projects in collaboration with Indigenous communities) are encouraged to apply today!
