Two solitudes.
One fire.
Reconciliation doesn’t happen in boardrooms or policy papers. It happens between people
– one relationship, one gathering, one honest conversation at a time. That’s the work HIP
has been doing for twelve years.
“Reconciliation is not an Aboriginal problem.
It is a Canadian one.”
Reconciliation isn’t what we talk about. It’s how we’re built.
Our belief is a simple one: reconciliation begins with relationships. A lot of organizations talk about that. We built our governance around it.
We’ve spent more than a decade on the road – visiting, listening, building programs based on what communities actually need rather than what we assume. We don’t guess. We ask. Then we deliver.
Residential schools removed Indigenous children from their families, languages, and cultures. That harm runs deep and continues across generations. The fact that Indigenous communities choose to work alongside us – and entrust us with their youth – is something we hold as a responsibility, not an entitlement.
50/50.

Today, more Indigenous youth apply to
HIP’s Y2Y Gatherings than non-Indigenous
youth. Given Canada’s history, that’s not
a small thing.
Every alumni leaves inspired.
This campaign makes sure that doesn’t stop at the airport.
non-Indigenous youth create lasting change. The question before us now isn’t whether it works.
The question is: what happens next?
Over the next five years, HIP is raising $2.5 million to expand nationally, strengthen
organizational capacity, and support the next 250 youth through the Y2Y Experience.
Three Ways to Join Us at the Fire
We’re looking for partners who are on their own path of truth and reconciliation — not just writing a cheque, but walking alongside us. At HIP, the relationship comes first; the sponsorship follows from it. Every tier includes category exclusivity in your sector: your investment, your recognition, not shared with a competitor down the street. But think of the tiers below as a starting point, not a ceiling. If the partnership that makes sense for your organization doesn’t exist yet on this page, that’s fine — let’s sit down, get to know each other, and build it together.
All contributions of $50,000 or more can be made as a single investment or pledged over up to five years, structured around your fiscal year. All contributions are eligible for a Canadian charitable tax receipt.
