One fire doesn’t spread on its own.
It needs people willing to feed it.
For twelve years, HIP has run largely on volunteer hours and good will. That got us this far. One Fire Canada is the campaign that makes sure the next twelve years don’t depend on the same thing.

Case for support
Why now
Every year, HIP turns away youth who applied for Y2Y because there wasn’t a seat for them. That’s not a marketing problem. That’s a capacity problem, and it’s the one problem an organization can’t story-tell its way out of.
One Fire Canada is a five-year, $2.5M campaign to build the operating capacity HIP has never had – paid staff where there’s only ever been volunteers, a program budget that doesn’t depend on one grant renewing on time. Behind it sits a longer goal: a $10M permanent endowment, so the fire doesn’t go out the year a founder steps back.
None of this changes what happens at the fire itself. It changes how many youth get to sit around it.

1. INDIVIDUAL SUPPORT
Support a youth
Any amount, one time or monthly
The simplest way in. Your gift goes straight into covering the real costs
of a Y2Y week – transportation, meals, materials – for a youth
who couldn’t otherwise attend.
