Winnipeg community leader, Michael Redhead Champagne published his first children’s book, We Need Everyone, in January 2024. “Everyone has a gift. Every gift is different, and every gift is special. Our world needs you to share your gift“. The first book launch event in February was held at the Manitoba Museum to an audience of 200 attendees consisting primarily of Indigenous families and children from 4 to 12 along with many teachers.

With family ties to Shamattawa First Nation, Michael is a host, on-screen personality, speaker and published author. Michael is working on and speaking about a more compassionate world by eliminating poverty, ending homelessness or increasing supports for families.
Michael appeared as a guest on First Contact 2018 and advisor on First Contact Season 2 in 2019 and received a Governor General Meritorius Award for Outstanding Indigenous Leadership in 2017.
