HIP is pleased to announce the appointment of Brenda Taylor as co-District Co-ordinator for Rotary District 5550.
Brenda was first introduced to Rotary by her husband, Colin and quickly became involved with the Ripple Effect Program, a district initiative. The program focuses on education and literacy for primary students in Guatemala. It involves building or renewing school infrastructure (including washrooms and kitchens), and providing furniture, supplies, computers and playgrounds. After her experience with the Ripple Effect Program and wanting to get more involved, Brenda joined the Riverside Saskatoon Rotary Club in 2017.
Brenda has an honours degree in Aboriginal Public Administration and a minor in Native Studies. She recently completed her thesis as part of a Master’s degree in Public Policy from the University of Saskatchewan.
Her passion for improving community relationships between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Peoples aligns with the values of inclusion, cooperation and trust, all of which are key indicators of community health and well-being. We welcome Brenda to the team and look forward to working together.
