HIP Welcomes Audrey Gilbeau to the Team

HIP is pleased to announce the appointment of Audrey Gilbeau to the Board.

Audrey Gilbeau is a member of Bingwi Neyaashi Anishinaabek located on the Southeast shores of Lake Nipigon located in Northwestern Ontario. She is currently employed with Nokiiwin Tribal Council in the role of Executive Director. In addition to her Executive Director duties and responsibilities, Audrey also supports member First Nations in areas of Governance. Through the “G’minoomaadoziimin – We Are Living Well,” Health and Safety Initiative Audrey has been integral to the development of the Spirit Builder Program which is a culturally appropriate Train the Trainer Program to address Lateral Violence based on cultural teachings and values. Audrey is proud to call herself a Spirit Builder.

Since 1998, Audrey has been engaged and dedicated to supporting First Nation and Indigenous organizations in areas of program, organizational and community development in a consultant role. Audrey’s experience in facilitation, community and program development, governance and engagement, and management have given her a broad understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities that exist within First Nations and Indigenous organizations.
