John andras
John Andras is a founding member of HIP (Honouring Indigenous Peoples) and Executive Vice-President of the Andras Group. He is also a shareholder, Senior Vice-President, Director, and Portfolio Manager with Research Capital Corporation. A seasoned financial services leader with more than four decades of experience, John brings deep expertise in investment management, governance, and organizational leadership to every role he holds.
A dedicated Rotarian and community builder, John currently serves as President of the Rotary Club of Campbellford, Director of the Campbellford Memorial Hospital Foundation, and a member of the Executive Committee of HIP. In addition to his governance duties, John serves as HIP’s Secretary and Director overseeing fundraising, where he leads efforts to strengthen resources, expand partnerships, and support HIP’s growing national impact.
John is the co-founder of several impactful initiatives, including Project Warmth, the Greater Toronto Community Clearing House, the Technology Learning Community, and the Toronto Disaster Relief Foundation. He is also a past President of the Rotary Club of Toronto, past Chair of SKETCH – a leading arts organization supporting marginalized youth – and the founding Chair of the FLIP Foundation, which fosters innovative philanthropic initiatives.
His contributions to community service have been widely recognized. John is a Rotary Paul Harris Fellow and recipient of the William A. Peace Award, the Rotary Club of Toronto’s Distinguished Service Award, the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal, and the Sovereign’s Medal for Volunteers.
John began his career in 1983 with Andras, Hatch & Hetherington, apprenticing across all aspects of the business -from the stock cage to the trading floor- under the mentorship of his father Kenneth B. Andras and his brother Ken. This early grounding in integrity, diligence, and service continues to guide his professional and volunteer leadership today.
As a founding member of HIP’s Board, John contributes extensive experience in governance, finance, partnerships, and community development. His dedication to collaboration, relationship-building, and social impact strengthens HIP’s mission to honour Indigenous Peoples, support Indigenous youth, and build respectful, enduring relationships between Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities across Canada.
