Jim Louttit

Jim Louttit, member of the Marten Falls First Nation, is the Chair of the HIP Board and President of JVL Global Corp, a financial services consulting firm specializing in community economic development. Since founding JVL Global Corp in 2012, Jim has applied his extensive financial services experience to help organizations and communities build sustainable, locally driven futures – an approach that aligns directly with HIP’s commitment to fostering equitable partnerships with Indigenous Peoples across Canada.

Jim’s career began with a distinguished tenure at the Bank of Nova Scotia, primarily within its International Banking Division. Over more than seven years living and working throughout Central and South America, he held senior executive roles that strengthened regional banking operations and served on several corporate boards, guiding governance and long-term strategy. His academic experience includes studies at Dalhousie University, Fanshawe College, and Queen’s University, and he is a Fellow of the Institute of Canadian Bankers.

A committed Rotarian since 2005, Jim joined HIP’s Board of Directors in January 2023 and quickly stepped into leadership roles – first as Treasurer and later, in February 2025, as Chair. His Rotary service includes founding the Rotary Club of Lima Sunrise in Peru, serving as President of the Rotary Club of Toronto Sunrise, and leading Rotary District 7070 as Governor in 2016–17. He has also held prominent roles at the global level, including Past Chair of the Rotary Action Group Chairs Advisory Council and Past President and Advisory Board Chair of the Rotary Action Group for Community Economic Development. Across these roles, Jim has championed collaboration, ethical governance, and innovation in service-values central to HIP’s mission.

Jim lives in Toronto, where he balances his professional and volunteer commitments with time spent with his partner Ana, his six grandchildren, and his love of golf and travel.
