about the pledge

Tk’emlups te Secwepemc First Nation discovered the remains of the 215 children using
ground-penetrating radar. This has confirmed what Indigenous Peoples and Allies
have known and been saying for years.

Generations of Indigenous children were abducted. Many are shocked to learn
that the last residential school closed in 1996.

By taking this pledge, you’re making a commitment to learning more about
these atrocious crimes and taking action towards reconciliation.

The I PLEDGE movement was started by Peter Hernandez and the Rotary Club of Oshawa.
Distraught and sad, Peter pledged to learn more, support those who are healing and
never allow this to happen again. Click here to read the full story.

Share and pass this on. Print it out. Tape it up. It can serve as a reminder to start
more conversations that lead to healing and reconciliation. Together, we can make a difference.
