Artist Kate Hogg held an online Canada Day auction. She says “we need to be more aware of the country we are celebrating, show respect to the land we are on, learn about the traditions and find and foster community in helping others.”
Proceeds from the winning bid on the artwork was directed to HIP and another charitable organization. After the bidding closed, Kate personally matched.
The painting in the auction was created in 2017 at the cottage on Cashel Lake, on Anishiabewaki, Huron-Wendat and Omamiwininiwak territories.” It has always been a place of rest and recovery”.
