student to student

The 66th Truth & Reconciliation call-to-action invites community-based organizations to deliver programs on truth and reconciliation and establish a network to share information and best practices. HIP’s Student-to-Student engagement program is an innovative initiative aimed at uniting youth to take action to create lasting change. Ultimately, the goals are to:

• Build lasting relationships between Indigenous and Non-Indigenous youth

• Promote cultural awareness and safety

• Inspire and empower diverse youth to work together towards bettering communities

As the program name implies, the best way to address social change is to engage people from diverse backgrounds in relationship building activities focused on working together. Through education, practice, and in-person engagement opportunities, the program develops students into experienced and effective leaders for peace.
